Brief and plan

A 60-minute Zoom meeting: we went through the plan of the property, the style, the key pieces, the $63,000 budget and the timings.

The manager selected options for every room at the factories. He sent photographs, video, dimensions and prices. The client approved the list.

The manager went out to 6 factories. At each one there was a live video link with the client: ‘turn it round, show me the seam, sit on it’.

Who the online format does not suit

‘Online is about trust. If a client is not prepared to settle matters over a video call and insists on touching every leather in person, our online format is not for them.’

We tell everyone honestly: online only works if you are ready to make decisions from images. If your style is to come and touch things, it is better to plan a tour to China. That is fine, we do both formats.

In this case the client was open to a remote format — and the result exceeded expectations. But if you have doubts, we recommend the tour: on site no questions remain at all.
