 In 1962, reinterpreting the Florence Knoll's sofa from 1954, Pierre Paulin softened all its contours, reducing the number of buttons to get rid of the strict squares of quilting, and made the metal structure that emphasized the edges of its base disappear, leaving only four legs: in short, he designed a new home sofa, at once sensual and sophisticated.‎ And as a precious improvement, he installed legs in chromed steel inside the armrests both front and rear, a touch that was as elegant when viewed from the front as from the back: the insertion of the leg into the armrest required more careful stitching and upholstery for a perfect finish.
