The Axel range combines old world and industrial heritage with a combination of reclaimed wood from disused Chinese slate junks and hand-finished metal parts. After decades of exposure to the high seas and the elements, the reclaimed wood of Chinese boat hulls, decks and beams feature unique color and texture characteristics, making each piece unique.

The latest incarnation of the Axel collection has a smoother, evenly finished surface, but with the same amount of wood character as previous versions.

A design feature of the collection is also the proportions of the models: all faces are multiples of 4 and have the same thickness.
