The distinctive feature and inspiration of the Belt family, made in all-fabric or leather versions, is the idea of a belt that outlines the profile of the body, encircles it, then breaks and fastens at the front of the seat.
In the leather version in particular, the tape is stitched to a piece of glued leather to provide support and ensure a consistent thickness: it is applied to the upholstery like a belt on a dress, and requires a very complex manufacturing process to follow the curved shape of the seat and keep the visible seams perfectly straight and even.
The classically shaped foam body creates a shell that envelops the backrest to accommodate and protect. The seat rests on a cast aluminum base with a polished Brandy lacquer that accentuates the shape of the chair and, in leather, is reminiscent of the metallic finish of fine leather bags.
The base is also available in dark brown Canaletto walnut or black open-pore ash lacquered.
